We finally made it to the west side of America to celebrate my 60th birthday - 2 years later than planned due to COVID.
We had an amazing time travelling many miles to visit big vista locations. Here are some of my photos, many of which are multi-image panoramics that have immense detail and suitable for large print.
My sunrise photo tour of Monument Valley was cancelled because of the cloud, so a small group of us set up tripods on the View Hotel patio and waited for this stunning but very short sunrise.
John Ford point in Monument Valley - such an iconic view over this magnificent landscape.
One of the greatest landscapes of all time - and like Monument Valley the constantly changing light is a photographers delight and nightmare both at the same time. This is my second visit to the Grand Canyon and I still struggle to do it true justice - I am quite pleased with this sunrise shot.
The morning sun ignites the colours of the rock spires at Bryce Canyon. An awesome sight but so worth the 0430 start from our hotel to get in position for the sunrise.
Taken from The View Hotel at sunset in Monument Valley. The enormity of the landscape just never stops blowing your mind away.
These Bryce Canyon rock spires are beautiful - standing proud and colourful in the morning light. There are so many of them and every corner you turn on the Peek-a-Boo trail there is yet another stunning view or collection.
